apt install qt5-default
Package qt5-default is not available, but is used by another package
referenced. That could mean that the package is missing, that it has been replaced
or is only available from another source.
E: There is no installation candidate for the "qt5-default" package.
How can I solve this?

I guess you are seeing this message when trying to use install some sort of third-party build of MuseScore on a Linux system? Indeed, those are often not built in a way that works. better to use the support AppImage from this site (see Downlaod menu above). Although there was just a case of even that producing an error due to a missing dependence on some particular system that apparently had an unusually bare installation (see #326050: Unable to launch AppImage (missing libraries probably)) because I've never seen that otherwise. Anyhow, definitely, use the Appimage, for this and other reasons.

I want to improve the midi import in MuseScore. For this I need the source that I want to generate for the debug mode.

So your question is about building MuseScore, then, not running it? Be sure you read and carefully follow the compile instructions for Linux. And if you have further questions, the Discord channel is probably the best place to ask, that's where most of the developers are.

Would it work in 32 bit Debian?

It might, but no 32-bit Linux version of MuseScore has been build in ages

Ok, I try it.

Not officially, but ABL did create a 32-bit ARM build of 3.6.2 as a special not so long ago.
