solo string methods
I have tried to find similar single instrument sounds like pizicato for strings. Double Bass is OK but Violin and others sound orchestral. Usually this is good but trying do notate a string sextet.
Other string methods like col legno, sul pont can be omitted. Glissando is I guess possible to play as separate notes like here but free glissando would be nice.
Tremolos have the same orchestral quality but they can be made with dedicated timing OK in low register.
Any advice how to change it or is it on the request list already?

Look for soundfonts that do contain the sounds you want.
As for your continuous glissando; the term is "portamento" and you can choose that in the Inspector for an added glissando.

Thanks,
I had missed that option portamento. Have to look into those soundfonts later.

Are you using the pizz. and arco from the Text palette? These text elements are already set up correctly to switch the channel to "pizzicato" or "normal" (i.e. arco):
The pizz. text should automatically give you a realistic pizzicato if it is applied to the single Violin instrument - don't use the multiple Violins instrument.

Those texts should work on violins too, but of course at least arco does soiund different there than on a solo violin (pizz. though uses the same sound as far as I can tell)

Yes, I think you are right.
But the OP mentioned it's for a sextet, which is why I suggested solo instruments.

I have the instruments as single and sounding like in the example. But also there the pizzicato is the same (at least with my sound library - using MuseScore 3 default). It is not so noticaeable in short notes. Using hidden voice in CB and shortening the notes but keeping original lines as not 'play' ticked it does not ruin the score looks too much. But in violin level it starts to sound like guitar...

My first try with SoundFonts was a success partly. I managed to add Strings-4U-v1.0 with synthesizer and sound of violin changed. In the mixer there was new channels but no new pizzicato channels. I got a look on default channels and there does not seem to be solo pizzicato on the list. I moved this SOudFont last in the synthesiser.
I did some expreriments (with defaul Sound fonts) on the three mentioned befor, pizzicato, col legno and glissando. I think I will not add percussion for col legno because this is a flavor only. Strangely, with glissando you an hear a 'accidental' quiet pizzicato at the end. I don't mind this kind of realistic sounds.

Last comment: The replacement of the pizzicato with 'Acoustic Bass' could be done easier with Mixer. This is the default pizzicato for CB. Learning slowly. Trying not to mess up the library.
