Not Responding
I was running version 3.4.2, three weeks ago the app started having a problem. The app loads but as soon as I click on anything, like File in the menu bar, the app freezes with the message (Not Responding) in the title bar and the app's window is grayed out. At this point the app is not responsive. Stopping and restarting the app results in the same behavior. I tried to uninstall the app and reinstall it, but no joy.
The app version is 3.4.2
Windows 10 version 1909.
Hardware is all high end, so no problem there, and the app was working.
I think the 3.4.2 version broke something or a windows update broke something.
Any ideas?

That worked, app is running. I don't remember changing any default settings. What default setting would cause this?

Yes.
I have this same problem and have been unable to resolve it.
Running on Ubuntu 22.04, with MuseScore 3.6.2 (upgraded to this when 3.4.2 started to exhibit the problem a fortnight ago).
I have reverted to factory settings and disables auto-save as found on other pages, but still get the 'not responding' pop-up window about every 30 seconds, and have to wait for it to clear before I can continue.

You're not on Windows10 and as such do not have the same issue.
You are affected by a Wayland-libX11/Qt bug due to a library version difference. See #334653: MuseScore gives a "not responding" message when moving the mouse for possible workarounds/solutions.
