Request: ability to add "untethered" tie marks
Not sure if this is the right term. What I mean is tie marks that are attached to only one note. For example, suppose you get to the end of a first ending, and your final note ties back to the first note of the repeated section. I play a fair amount of Brazilian music, and this kind of thing is very common. You want to be able to place a tie that goes to the right of the last note of that first ending, even if its right side isn't seen to attach to anything. AND, of course, to have it rendered correctly on playback, though for me this is less important than having it look correct. AFAIK Musescore affords no way of doing that reliably. What happens instead is that the tie reaches ahead to the next instance of the same pitch, which could be several or many measures ahead. Obviously not what you want.
The other part of this would be enabling the addition of an "untethered" tie mark to the left of the first note in a measure. In the aforementioned example, you would want this to go to the left of the first note in the repeated section. Another example would be in a coda where the last note before the coda ties into the first note of the coda section. Admittedly this latter problem can sometimes be avoided by simply choosing a different "To Coda" point--that is, one that doesn't involve a tie across a bar--but that's not always satisfactory.
It's possible MS can already do this and I just don't know it, but I don't think so. In any case, I would like to request this feature if we don't have it already. I'm on MuseScore 3.6.2, if it signifies.

There is no built-in feature for this yet, but it's a common request, so hopefully someday. Meanwhile, here is an article describing various workarounds:

Thanks for the link. The existence of the article suggests that the need, or at least the wish, is well known, so maybe it will indeed happen someday. The workarounds all seem clunky to varying degrees, but if that's what we've got right now....
I rather dislike Sibelius, but this is one (maybe the only?) thing that, in my limited experience, has seemed easier on Sibelius than on MuseScore.
Yeah, this would be very useful.
