Pickup Measures
I have a Mac. I want to make the first measure a pickup measure (the piece is in 3-4 time), but I can't "right-click" my mouse to open the Measure Properties dialog box.

Try selecting a rest and use Tools split measure.

Did you try ctrl-clk?

That didn’t work. The dialog box opened, but when i then went to Command+X, nothing happened. Same thing with "delete"

Once the dlg box opens, don't do command+X, instead select "Measure Properties ..."
and then you should see:

I decided to trash the first draft, and created a new score. In the setup, there was a box I could check marked "Pickup Measure". It worked!
