Musescore 4.0 still shows plugin even after deleted (Solved!)
Musescore 4.0 still shows a plugin (Vital Audio) in the dropdown Sound/VST3 menu even after I deleted it and it isn't present in the VST3 folder. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!

Presumably restarting MuseScore would fix this?

No. I restarted it multiple times and even did a reboot. Still there.

And is it still working as well?
If so, you probably didn't remove it as well as you thought you did.

It doesn't work. Its folder is gone from the Program Files and the plugin file isn't anymore in the VST3 folder (the only one my MU4 looks into), so it shouldn't appear in the dropdown Sound menu, even if some residual information could be present somewhere in my system.

Would you mind listing which folder that is?

A strange thing indeed. AFAIK on launch MuseScore indeed goes looking for VSTs, but I don't think it really caches them somewhere.
Something to further investigate for sure!

I believe this or a similar problem has been reported:

I fixed mine by removing the VST Folders & the VST3 References from the Musescore pack
Solved! Thanks to jeetee suggestion:
"On Windows I've located %LOCALAPPDATA%\MuseScore\MuseScore4\vst which seems to hold a json metadata file for each vst it found. Try removing the relevant json file from there and if that helps.
Perhaps we can then create an issue for MuseScore to clean up such a file if it no longer can find the file set in the "path" inside the json."

Guess it needs another update
