Strange things happen with rehearsal marks
I prefer rehearsal marks with no frame (it is by far the most common mode in commercial sheet music in my experience). Musescore 4 appears to be set for rehearsal marks with frames. So I remove the frame whenever I enter one. But if I now close the file and reopen the next day the rehearsal marks have their frames back! It is two mouse clicks to get all frames deleted from all rehearsal marks but it is strange behavior.
It seems that when a score is finished the no-frame status begins to stick and no new unframing is required. Which is why I can't come up with a precise set of actions that cause this behavior.
As a matter of fact what I really want is to get MS to place unframed rehearsal marks to begin with. But there is no such option in "styles". Do I find an opportunity somewhere else?

I got that far. But I don't find anything about the frame there.

Look carefully at the difference here....
There is:
Format > Style > Rehearsal Marks
and:
Format > Style > Text Styles > Rehearsal mark
The second one allows the choices for Frame -- None, Rectangle, Circle.
Also, it looks like 'None' can be selected in the Properties panel and set as the default style therein.
