Multimeasure rest keyboard shortcut doesn't work on Mac, Musescore v 4.4.2
Hi,
I'm trying to use the shortcut for multi-measure rests that used to be M, but it doesn't work. I also tried M+cmd+Shift on Mac, but that also doesn't work. The only thing that works is the Fortma-Style-Rests but it is very annoying to always go there.

I'm currently running:
OS: macOS 15.0, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.4.2-242570931, revision: 3130f97
Could you please fix that bug?

Redefine the shortcut so something else, like Shift+M
I've seen one other report from a Mac user about this, but only one. Making me think it isn't a problem in general on that OS, but might be something specific to your keyboard layout or system configuration. Can other mac users weigh in and say if it's working for you or not?
Note: the other person reported that the behavior seemed to depend on what order you pressed Cmd, Shift, and M. I recommend doing it in that order: press and hold Cmd, then add Shift, then add M.

Regarding the order - it doesn't matter in my case. I tried all possible combinations of right/left cmd, right/left Shift and M and neither works. The only thing that does something is a combination
cmd+mthat shows a window saying: "No note or rest selected Please select a note or rest and retry".Regarding OS - It worked on the previous version of mac and Musescore. I recently upgraded both the OS and Musescore, and I'm not sure, but I think that maybe (but really just maybe) the MS worked well before I upgraded the OS to Sequoia 15.0. I'm also not sure that it's relevant but for a day, I was unable to use the
cmd+~to switch between windows on my Mac, so maybe it is OS related.Regarding redefining the shortcut - switching to

As for why the change from M: we got lots of questions from confused users who hit it accidentally and then wondered what happened to their score. Really, it probably became one of the top FAQ’s. Since toggling mmrests is normally a pretty uncommon thing to want to do anyhow, it was decided it would be best to change the shortcut to something harder to hit accidentally.

Given the context here, maybe this is weird.
Here on MacOS 13.5.2 and MSS4.4.2 m toggle multi-measure rests. And I don't recall changing any Shortcuts.
If anyone on Windows comes looking for answers to this annoying change, it is "shift, ctrl, M". Hopefully it will be set back on a future version.

Why wait for a future version ? Assuming, incidentally, that there's any chance of a comeback, unlikely.
Make the change yourself, immediately.
Go to Edit / Preferences / Shortcuts: Search for "Toggle Multimeasure Rests", Clear existing shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + M) and Define a new shortcut - "M", I guess!
