inconsistent tempo in certain parts of my composition
I set the tempo to quarter note = 114 at the beginning of the piece, and playback is fine up until the middle section. It suddenly changes to quarter note = 108 without any prompting. The only explanation that I can think of is a brief time signature change from common time to 3/4 time and back to common time. The thing is, the change in tempo doesn't happen with the last shift back to common time. It happens a measure later for some reason. Later in the piece I experienced this same issue, but this time there wasn't any explanation at all. I did some research and some people were having trouble with the tempo after rit. markings, but there aren't any in my composition.

Where?🙄 I don't see any such tempo marking, not even hidden in your score. Did you make a file error when you attached it? For the moment, this one plays at 120 (the default tempo when you create a new score)
But if you actually add a tempo marking at 114, everything's fine: 1Fum, Fum, Fum!.mscz

I meant to say that I set the playback speed at 114. I think messing with that caused the problem in the sections I mentioned. Adding a tempo marking worked. Thanks for replying!
