Grace notes assigned to a rest and Placement of flat sign
Attached is an original pdf and a Musescore file I am working on (produced with Audevirus). I have 2 questions about measure 24.
1. Is there a way to assign grace notes to a rest? If not, is there a work around (I can make the first 2 notes 1/16th notes then have an 1/8th note rest and then make a triplet out of the last 1/4 rest, but that is not exact timing).
2. On the bass stave, the voice 2 half note F is placed before the voice 1 quarter note Eb. The flat sign is placed before the F making it look like it is really Fb. Is this just a convention I am not aware of? I inserted a natural sign in front of the F, but the flat sign still comes first. Is there a way to switch the order of the F and Eb?
Thanks,
Nick

The mscz file seems to have been last saved in 3.6.2. Is there any reason you are not using the current version 4.4.4?

That is what Audiveris, via http:://musescore.com/import, does

My thoughts about the grace notes seem to be correct. Here is what I see in the score from IMSLP https://imslp.org/wiki/Special:ImagefromIndex/742347/torat

I adjusted the X offset in the Inspector and that did the trick.
Thank you,

First of all you'd need to fix the corruption:
Measure 115, Staff 1, Voice 2 too long. Expected: 26/64; Found: 20/48
Maybe you can fake it with voices, small chords and some manual placement
see attached score

I just wanted to make sure I was not missing something before I faked it.
Thanks for your time and response. You have always come through for me in the past!

Measure 24 bass clef. Yet another way would be to select the F. Delete the natural sign. Flip the stem. Select the stem and drag the box at the top of the stem, down.
There is a trill that ends with the type of figure in the treble clef. Can't remember the name. It looks to me like the writer of this piece wanted the release to be on beat one of 24, not before. In which case you would need write it out.

It's the Ritual Fire Dance from El Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla. See the extract from the published full score that I posted earlier https://musescore.org/en/node/375113#comment-1279897 which shows that the grace notes are "grace notes after" and are placed after the note but before the bar line.

I understand that. It makes me wonder if the accordion arranger had the ability to put grace notes after the note

As I said in point 1 here https://musescore.org/en/node/375113#comment-1279893

Yes. I know. I was also just wondering why they did it the way they did. As you can see in the full score, the trill in measure 24 is supposed to lead to a note. Not a rest. They were consistent. Accept measure 24 doesn't work. Like I said maybe they had no way to put grace notes after a note. Who knows. You can in MuseScore, although you have to mess with the trill to get playback. Which might not be important.
