4.4.4 Update won't allow saving files using .mscz file format
I just updated to the latest version of MuseScore, version 4.4.4
I cannot save new MuseScore files/scores, it says using .mscz is not valid for a file name!
I have never had a problem saving a MuseScore file until now, didn't work after restarting my computer either. Please help!! It has to be a bug.
EDIT/UPDATE: THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED. IT WAS A STUPID APOSTROPHE IN THE FILE NAME GERERATED FROM THE TITLE OF THE SCORE THAT WAS BEING PUT THERE AUTOMATICALLY, WHICH IS WHY IT WASN'T WORKING, IT WON'T ALLOW YOU TO SAVE A FILE NAME WITH SPECIAL CHARACTERS. I'M AN IDIOT.

Can you save this file?
"Please help!! It has to be a bug"
Or something different in your computer setup, because it works fine for me. Give as many details as you can and maybe someone can help.
OS: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.4.4-243461245, revision: 2232670

I literally gave all the details. All I did was update it. Never had this problem before, nothing changed on my Windows PC. Probably on my end somehow but it's frustrating.

In the initial post you didn't even mention that you're on Windows...
What Windows version?
Where do you try to save to?
When did it work and what changed before it started not working?

Windows 11, the latest version. I save to the folder that it has saved all of my other MuseScore files before, which is on the One-Drive. As I explained in the initial post, ALL I DID was update to version 4.4.4 and it won't allow me to save a new MuseScore file, saying "The file name is not valid" I didn't change anything, I didn't add or delete characters of the file name, I have not done literally anything else besides the update. In the screenshot you can see all the other MuseScore files I have had no problem saving before. And when I tried to save the current one after doing the update, it gives that error message. I don't understand how people can't understand, that all I did was do the update to version 4.4.4, THAT'S IT!

@Jojo-Schmitz
Do you think this warning comes from the OS?
I can't find such text in the Musescore code.
Is there any way to modify the text to mention prohibited characters?

Please disregard, I figured out why. It was an apostrophe from the title of the score automatically generating in the file name. Can't use apostrophes or other characters when saving the file name. I feel like an idiot.

You "literally" gave very few details other than that you had it working before and now it doesn't.

That's exactly it, what don't you understand? I only updated to version 4.4.4 and now I can't save a new .mscz file because it says "File name is not valid". I did not do anything else. That's it. There are no other details than that.

What if the file name is really not valid?

How can that be when it's a .mscz file, which is a MuseScore file, just like every other MuseScore file I've saved ever? What is your problem?

From your screenshot above, double quotes are not allowed in a file name in windows.
Try creating a folder with the name you have in your screenshot.

Thanks, yep I just figured that out a few minutes ago, the title of the score was automatically generating an apostrophe and quotation marks in the file name, which won't work when trying to save it. Everything is working normally now.

Care to retract your ill-informed rant? Your reply sounded pretty personal to me.
Check this or try to save the file to another folder
