Better way of making MP3s than just exporting?
I've been using Musescore to write some music that I'd like to use in a video game. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to hire musicians and am looking for a good way to create MP3s from my music. I know Musescore comes with the MP3 export option, however Musescore sometimes drops notes and cannot handle some advanced dynamics, such as crescendoing on a sustained note. Are there any good third party tools that I can use to create MP3s from the MIDI or MusicXML or something?

Not sure what you mean about dropped notes - maybe you are seeing the issue where if two notes on the same channel happen at the same time, the sound cuts off when the shorter note does? Anyhow, MP3 export in MuseScore should be exactly the same as the playback within the program itself, so what I think you're really asking about is getting playback in general, not about MP3 export specifically. And yes, sure, DAW software can be used to generate audio from MIDI or MusicXML, and you may well be be able to get better results if you're willing to spend some time hand-tweaking the results.

I've noticed that there are many times when notes are not played, with some sound fonts being worse than others.
If you play the attached score with the Timbres of Heaven sound font (linked below) and play from measure 17, some of the tripplets won't play.

Hmm, I hear what you mean with Timbres of Heaven. Might be unique to that soundfont; works fine with the default and I've never heard of anything like this happening before. If I mute the timpani all is well. Could be some sort of resource overload?

I've tried a variety of soundfonts and noticed that the larger the soundfont, the more likely notes are to be dropped. It also tends to happen when multiple instruments are playing lots of notes. However, I've noticed it with the default sound font too. Usually it's a lot harder to hear - when there's a lot going on and non-melody instrument skips an eighth note it can be hard to catch. This particular example is just the most obvious example I have.

Hello, I am a newbie and just happened to be browsing the forum.
If the problem is caused by overload/too many instruments at once -
By muting instruments (F10) you can create an Mp3 of each instrument in turn then, using AUDACITY, you can import each instrument as a separate track and create a stereo mix of your choosing.
You can also adjust the volume of each instrument in MUSESCORE as it is exported, or in AUDACITY.
I've done this myself, albeit with simple kiddies' songs - melody line track and keyboard track.
(Just a suggestion)
