Program won't load!
I downloaded musescore yesterday but nearly every time i try to start it it freezes. Please help!

More details please, which version of musescore on what OS, how do you start it?

We had reports like this when there was a bogus printer being set as the default, so what printers do you have installed and which is the default?

Thanks. I have version 2.0 (as far as I can tell) on Windows 7 64 bit. I've tried starting it from the desktop shortcut and by opening a saved score.
I'm not at my computer currently, but I have a number of printers installed. The default is a work network printer.

Well, go for 2.1 first. From where did you download 2.0 yesterday?
What is the default paper format of that printer? MuseScore tries to detect that and may fail and die while doing that, IIRC

I would suggest you try running it from the command line and reset factory setting using these instructions: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings#instructions-…
I realize it should have factory settings out of the "box" but sometimes this enable people to run it the first time.

Do I need to do this every time? It loaded once, but I today I tried again and had the same issue. It seems very hit and miss as to whether the program works. It's becoming more trouble than it's worth, except I now have some work saved that I'd like to keep.

You should not have to reset to factory settings every time you start MuseScore. This should be a one time fix. It sounds as though you have something on your computer that interferes with MuseScore. I just don't know what it might be. Hardware? Software?
