Beam that crosses voices?
I've been playing the piano for a year now and I don't know the first thing about composing music, but I'm loving musescore for attempting to modify scores. (I have access to "Instant MuseScore" and while slightly outdated is still a great intro.)
My instructor is helping me to simplify "Memory" from Cats, and on the 17th measure I encounter the attached image of two measures with an apparent beam between two different voices. Is this something that I can do in MuseScore?
Thank you, and thank you to the developers of this fantastic free software. I've used a lot of free software and MuseScore is truly impressive in its capabilities.

Indeed. Simply place a note there in both the first voice and the second, and then make the note in the first voice (the eighth note, in this context) invisible; preferably disable playing it as well, if you care about the volume being too loud in this situation.

Ah ha! Thank you! That did the trick. Very nice.
I don't see a beam connect notes of different voices. Just notes from different voices and durations sharing the head.
