Adding rests when Cross-staff beaming

Hello. I am wondering if it is possible to add rests PER-STAFF when Cross-staff beaming. I'm sure that's a confusing question. I uploaded an image of an example. Basically, the notes are cross-staff beamed, but each staff has its own rests. So basically each staff is separate (as far as count), but the notes are still cross beamed.
