How to wrtie 4 notes in 3 beats?
I'm arranging Calvin Harris's song 'I'm Not Alone' for a string orchestra and there's an area of syncopation in the main melody where 4 equal notes are played in the space of three beats. I have tried and failed many times to get the program to let me do this and so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
If you would like to hear the bar I am referring to here is a YouTube link starting at the correct moment in the song: https://youtu.be/a8TPXFoXO5A?t=32s . If that doesnt work it is the bar in the first bridge where he sings the lyric 'laid down on the floor'.
Thanks for your help!

Do you mean something like this? (See the attached file)
If you want that, you have to chose it from the "NOTES" menu, option "IRREGULAR GROUPS" and then you can chose from a lot of "rare" rhythmic figures.
Greetings
Juan

Or use the keyboard to enter
6 . [Ctrl]4
Create a dotted half note or rest and split it into 4.

so you want 4 on top of 3 right? or like a 3/4 bar with 4 evenly-timed notes filling it? OK, time-sig--> 3/4, drag and drop, click on the dotted half-rest, (important) select note-input AND quarter-notes (so the program knows what the hell is going on) THEN press 4 to create your "quaruplet" (??) it might be ctrl+4 u get the idea. Transcribe some drumline cadences you'll get the hang in no time.
