Fitting lyrics into the correct bars on a jazz lead sheet (filled with slashes)
Hi all, I'm new to Musescore and learning fast. I've set up a lead sheet with chords, and with each bar filled with slashes (4 per bar in 4/4 time). The problem is that the lyrics are automatically spacing to fit one syllable for each of the four beats, and I can't seem to adjust it to fit all the required lyrics. I don't want to add in the notes, as I am trying to create a simple jazz chart.
How can I force more lyrics to fit under each bar?

Use rhythmic slash notation instead? Every syllable needs a note (or slash, which is just a note in disguise)
Or use Ctrl+Space, to force more than one syllable to one slash
