How to convert 2/2 to 4/4 on scores from imported pdfs?
I've had pretty good success with Musescore's pdf import feature; however, a number of the scores that are in 4/4 import as 2/2 time. I have not figured out how to convert these 2/2 time signatures to 4/4. Click and drag 4/4 into the score doesn't work for me, nor does going to Style and changing 2/2 to 4/4.
What is the correct method for converting 2/2 to 4/4 time after importing from pdf?
Thanks for your help.

Just drag a 4/4 timesig onto the measure with the 2/2 timesig. If that doesn't work I guess we'd need to see the actual score to check

I apologize, as I should have said I had tried dragging the 4/4 time signature over the 2/2 signature, and received the following error: "Cannot rewrite measures: Tuplet would cross measure". I appreciate further help, and thank you for your reply.

Hmm, as said, we'd need to look at the score

I've attached it. The only modification I have done since importing from pdf is to remove the title, which imported as a very large block.

Measure 2 defintily is not 2/2 nor 4/4 but 3/8, measure 40 is 17/16, measure 41 and 49 is 9/8, measure 56 is 5/4, measure 61 and 68 is 3/2, measure 62 is 67/54, measure 72 is 25/16, and so on ans so forth.
But you can change the visual timesig via rightclick, Time Signature Properties, Text. Doesn't change any nominal or actual measure dirations, but at least looks OK?

Thanks. I appreciate your help. How did you determine the time of each of those measures? I ask because knowing your method will certainly be useful in my future efforts.

If you import a PDF and it's successful, the first thing you should always do is look for tuplets that do not belong. These are often in the same measure with random rests that are in another voice. These measures will need to be manually fixed. You can then usually change the time signature with no issues.

Thanks. All things considered, the import PDF feature works rather well, for the most part.
