Tabulature with extended range instruments is faulty
I've been composing quite a lot for 8 string guitar recently and since I am sometimes using sort of complex frettings I wanted to notate the respective chords using tab with the two added bass strings. Sadly, when exceeding fret 5 on the added strings, the cursor automatically alters the next higher string (so E2 in my case) and thus makes the whole fretting completely useless. This has transformed the 7 string chords from easily frettable (spanning 3 frets maximum) to absolutely unplayable (one string fretted on 2nd, the next fretted on 20th). Basically the bug fix would just be taking out the function where the program is trying to help me by shifting the fretting lower down the fretboard at first but not shifting it back for when I put in the rest of the notes.

Did you add the string(s) to the string data of that instrument? Can't see that from a JPG, we'd need the real score for that.

I have done that, also with correct position within the string order and everything.
Also adding the Instrument isn't the problem. I've already gotten that sorted out. If I had left the strings off the Tab score and just added two more lines I would've gotten a red marked second note on the E string.

As Jojo said, without seeing the score we can't really see what's going on. Also explain the order that you entered the notes. This will affect the tablature MuseScore sets.

I usually added the notes from high to low - tried it once the other way now and suddenly it works...

So...
Create an unlinked tab staff, then you can add the complex frettings without MuseScore's help.
Copy/paste still works from treble to TAB and vice versa, so can be used on the sections that MuseScore 'gets right'.
Regards.
Thanks y'all for your help, somehow I got it to work. It seems like I just have to add the notes from low to high to make it work.

In MuseScore and Plucked instruments entering low to high makes more sense anyway since there are more options of which string to put a higher note on than the lower ones. In MuseScore it's easier to add to a chord with shift+note name when using the keyboard, which is faster than the mouse when you get used to it.
