I also experienced this bug as well with MuseScore 2.2.1 running under Ubuntu 18.04. It applies to all types of trills and mordents (lines and articulations alike), and to all octave lines (8va, 8vb, 15ma, 15mb, 22ma, 22mb).
All ornamental notes are raised or lowered by 1, 2 or 3 additional octaves according to the line chosen. To give another example, a turn (gruppetto) placed above an F3 raised with a 15ma line will play F5 - G7 - F5 - E7 - F5 (instead of F5 - G5 - F5 - E5 - G5). Applied to an F4 instead, one would hear F6 - silence - F6 - silence - F6 (instead of F6 - G6 - F6 - E6 - F6).
The only temporary fix I see for now is to disable the trill playback and write the notes manually in a separate, invisible voice. Nonetheless, it would be useful to have this feature work as intended.
not a regression in 2.2, but existed in 2.1 already
The issue seems fixed in MuseScore 3.0.0. I'll let someone confirm this before closing the issue.

I guess since I reported it I'll mark it as fixed in version 3.0. I'll let the computer close it in two weeks automatically if no one disagrees.
