Highlights
This update fixes dozens of issues as well as adding a few improvements.
For a complete list of changes, please see the release notes.
New
- Default to dark theme on macOS if Dark Mode (available as of 10.14, Mojave) is the system-wide preference
- Sticking (the process of assigning certain notes to either our left or right hand for percussion) as a new command
Improvements
- Make basic colors of the application, including voice colors, consistent
- 7/8 time signature was added to advanced workspace and master palette
- Avoid poor alignment of hairpins to dynamics bound to the segment before hairpin start
- Add style settings allowing MDL templates to follow basic drum line notation rules better
- Double/triple-clicking in a text editing mode now selects a word/paragraph respectively
Fixes
- Playback tempo was incorrect when working in continuous view
- Playback tempo set to defaults in some cases when editing score elements
- Tempo changes set fermata time stretch to defaults
- Tuplets and articulations were laid out incorrectly
- Layout shift in a measure at the start of a system happened in some cases
- Multi-measure rests created unexpected key signatures in some cases
- Key signature appeared in multi measure rest after being deleted from underlying measure
- Side panels were not dockable after being undocked and closed once
- Mixer panel disappeared in some cases
- Mixer didn't remember changes in the channels
- Changing clef didn't have an effect in combination with multi measure rest
- Сopying/pasting a clef into an another clef crashed Musescore
- Right-click / Edit Element with a different element selected led to crash
- Exporting parts from a score didn't produce correct MIDI, MP3, WAV, OGG, and FLAC files
Important notes
- Sticking feature is incompatible with previous versions of Musescore which means the sticking text won’t be rendered in earlier versions of Musescore
- We are developing a solution to support official builds for macOS 10.10 and 10.11

I think users should be able to add their custom time signatures into the pallet.
When will you enhance the playback?

Users can add custom time signatures into their palettes, since ages. We added 7/8 only for convenience.
What playback enhancement are you talking about?

I've also been wondering about this for a while and dragging a custom time signature from the Master Palette to my Palette in the sidebar only gives me a red, crossed out circle. Is there another way you're supposed to do this?

You can only add items to a custom palette. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/palettes#custom-palettes

Playback has been enhanced in some way pretty much each and every release. If you have specific ideas for further improvement, please discuss them in a new thread.

Looking forward to the official build for macOS 10.10 & 10.11 with Sparkle for updates. Until we do get it, here is the MuseScore 3.2 for macOS 10.10 and 10.11 (unofficial build).

Does this update include fixes to MDL because there has been playback issues recently where the volume of each note is different. Also it sometimes will skip over notes and not play them completely. This is only an issue with the drum line extension and I'm not sure if it's just me or a major issue other people are having. Thanks in advance for your response.

Best to start a new thread to discuss MDL. I do know that natural human variation between successive notes is one of the features of the MDL soundfont (it's called "round robin), but I guess some people find the behavior a bit much. Feel free to discuss that in a separate thread with an attached score.

I’ll discuss this in a separate thread when I get the chance but the human variation is not the problem. It’s this weird up and down in the volume of the notes and the skipping of notes that started occurring. It’s never been like this until recently.

The described problems were not specific to MDL only and are supposed to be fixed in Musescore 3.1 (released a month ago). Could you please check the version of Musescore you use and report it in a separate thread?
The position data of articulations (above, below) is always lost after saving process.

I love Musescore, and am tremendously grateful to see a community-driven program reach ever-higher levels of quality, but (with all due respect to those that worked on it) that new logo is in dire need of fixing. I'm assuming it's a modified variant of Helvetica Neue, as all the characteristics appear the same as the old font, but the combination of the heavier weight and the rounding makes it look dated, and really highlights the awkward curved line connecting the m and the u. Plus, even though this might just be a result of the heavier weight, it looks like the entire thing was compressed horizontally, making the c and o just look stretched out vertically. If I had to guess, I'd say this is an attempt to look more like Sibelius' latest logo, albeit a somewhat misguided one.
With that being said, the software itself functions better than ever for me and my (admittedly simple) usecase. I've been able to get 3.x running smoothly on my personal laptop, work desktop (thanks to the portable nature of the nightlies), and even on my Chromebook (even though playback doesn't work quite right, due to the VM not running at 100% real speed). I look forward to checking out the fixes and improvements in 3.2, and congratulate the devs and designers on their latest achievements.
Congratulations and thank you!
Thank you very much.
Not that I miss it very much, but I report that the start center is still black, at least on my system (W7, i7 6GB RAM). Moving the mouse pointer inside the window at certain positions it turns into a hand, so the functionality may be there but it is impossible to know what is going to happen (unless one is seeing the handbook figure).
