Adjust "page number" size....
MuseScore 3: How can I adjust the size of the text used for page numbers? (I tried Format > Style > Header, Footer but did not find any size adjustment).

Didn't work for me. Is it different nowadays? Once I get to Text Styles, I don't see anything about page numbers.

Page numbers are part of the header (or footer). So look at Format>Style>Text Styles>Header (or Footer). Unfortunately, the settings apply to the whole of the header or footer, so the size of everything else in the header or footer will change as well.
