Meaning of small horizontal lines?
What do the small horizontal lines (like hyphens) between the staves in the attached screenshot mean? I thought they indicated a problem with the duration (measure properties). But I have doublechecked all the voices and can't find any that are not correct in 3/4, so it must be something else.

probably lyrics dashes, but impossible to say for sure from a picture, esp. one that shows only a snippet

Thank you -- you're right. The piece has no lyrics, so I'm not sure how they got there (and they occur only in this system); maybe I hit some keystroke by accident that adds lyrics. I finally figured out that if I click on the first (leftmost) hyphen I can delete them; clicking on any of the others, which I had done before posting, accomplishes nothing.
