A severe issue with the Basic and Master Palettes occurs every time I open Musescore Version: 3.3.3.8992, Revision: 57d770e.
Today, I installed the latest update. However, when I open Musescore, both Palettes were "blank, empty."
Step 1: Restarted the computer after the latest update installed.
Step 2: Opened Musescore 3.3.3.8992.
Step 3: Opened both Palettes. Basic is consistently "blank" and the Master Palette comes-and-goes.
Step 4: Repeated the process and got the same result.
Opened Musescore 10 times and still had NO information or functionality of the Palettes.
NOTE: The workaround was to Create a Custom Palette from the choices given.
Maybe, I should reinstall the update.
Thanks!

What version were you updating from?
Have you tried reverting to factory settings?
Came up again in https://musescore.org/es/node/297814
1) Create a text file.
2) Copy-paste the following content to that file:
3) Save the file.
4) Rename the file to something like musescore_log.bat (the important part is .bat at the end). If a dialog pops up, confirm changing the file extension.
5) Double-click that .bat file.
This should launch MuseScore (it may run slower than usually). When MuseScore starts, close it.
6) Find
musescore_log.txt
file in the same directory where this.bat
file is located and attach this file to your message here.Sorry for this long list of questions and suggestions but I hope this helps to find the cause of the issue.
Hi dmitrio95,
I'm getting what sounds like exactly the same issue on Fedora 31 with mscore-3.3.4-1.fc31.x86_64 (and/or mscore-fonts-3.3.4-1.fc31.noarch).
I asked about this on #musescore on Freenode yesterday and was advised to report in here, as my palettes sidebar is completely blank.
I successfully captured a log according to your instructions using the command "QT_LOGGING_RULES='.=true' QT_LOGGING_TO_CONSOLE=1 mscore -F".
However, your website is sufficiently broken that it refuses to let me attach the log. Every time I try to attach it, it silently fails. It does, however, let me attach this screenshot.
Please fix your website such that uploading logs works and I would be more than happy to upload it.
Jeremy.
I should also note that launching with QT_OPENGL=angle or QT_OPENGL=software behaves exactly the same. In both cases, the palette sidebar is completely blank.
Hey. I had now the same problem with the empty palette in ubuntu 18.04 because i compiled a newer version. I fixed this problem by installing this files: qml-module-qtquick-controls2; qml-module-qtquick-window2; qml-module-qtquick2; qml-module-qtgraphicaleffects; qml-module-qtqml-models2
i hope this helps :)

This also worked for me when a freshly compiled 3.5.2 arrived without palettes.
Let's close it then

It's not fixed though. I just confirmed that the addition of several dependencies fixed it for me. Those need to be specified in the release do they not?
Yes, by the maintainer of MuseScorer for that distribution. This is nothing the developers here can solve
