Extraneous rest marks on score
I have just completed a closed SATB score. When I started to input voice 3, a whole rest appeared in the color of voice 1 just above the bass staff. Now I have finished inputting all the voices, but the rest marks refuse to go away. How can I get rid of them? I have tried selecting them and delete, control + delete, shift + delete, and they are STILL there! Help!!!!

Sounds like you accidentally entered notes into a voice *other* than 1. Probably you need to move them to voice 1 using Edit / Voices. In order to say for sure and give you better advice, we'd need you to attach your score.
Edit: sorry, I misread. Indeed, you even said you used voice 3. That's the problem right there. Each staff needs to start with voice 1.

Aha! That little detail slipped right by me. Now it makes sense. Thank you!
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/voices, tenor is not to be entered as voice 3 in a closed score SATB
Voices while entering music should not be confused with the voices singing in a quartet. On a two staff quartet, the soprano is written in voice 1 on the treble clef. The Alto is written in Voice 2 on the treble clef. The tenors are written in voice 1 on the bass clef and the basses are written in voice 2 on the bass clef. This make all of the stems point the correct direction so each singer can identify his or her line, even if the notes cross one another or a unison occurs.
The additional voices (3&4) on the line are normally used in keyboard music or for condensing scores with large numbers of instruments.

Mike 320, you nailed that one! You were exactly correct that I was thinking SATB is 4 voices. Well, I can see that a lot of revision work is ahead for me, but at least now I know what I should have done and have a sense of how to make it all better. Thank you!
