"mscore.exe has stopped working" appears every time I exit MuseScore

Hi, I've searched the forum as well as I can but can't find anyone reporting the same issue I have.

Musescore has worked perfectly for me for years, but about a month ago I started getting the message "mscore.exe has stopped working" every time I exit MuseScore. It appears to be saving my files properly, so I'm not losing any work, but it's irritating and concerning that this message pops up every time I close it - I'm not sure if it presages more severe problems showing up at some point. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing musescore using the latest version of the installer to no effect; I get the problem regardless of what file I open - it happens with new and old scores or even if I open and close it with no score at all; it happens when I simply open and close musescore, or open it and work for a long time in it.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, with 12 gig of RAM.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this would be much appreciated.
