Transcription question
(orchestral suite No. 3 from Bach)
How would you transcribe measure five for timpani?
In printed transcriptions it's transcribed in this way:
But the rhythm of the dotted eight and the three 32th notes doesn't seem to be correct (see attached mscz file measure 5).
In the original score from Bach its look like this:

It could also be this, which would match the rhythms on the other staves more closely:
Here only the 32nd-notes (demisemiquavers) are part of the triplet. This would be quite tricky to play at a fast tempo.
Based on how the noteheads are aligned between staves it looks like the printed edition chose Jojo's interpretation, though it's not so obvious in the original.
If this is for OpenScore then you want to follow the printed edition anyway and trust the decisions made by the publishers.

Hmm, in mine I used 16th notes, which seems wrong, looking at it again now.
