Tremolo symbols will not display correctly or be moved

I have two issues with tremolo markings:

1. When the tremolo is starting on a higher note and going to a lower note, the tremolo symbol is still displaying in an upward pointing direction, and it needs to be pointing down to match the direction of the notes. I have tried right-clicking on the symbol and the "Tremolo" selection in the drop down menu is grayed out. Any ideas?

2. The tremolo symbols won't move. I can't click and drag them.

Is this possibly an issue of my system? I'm on Mac OSX 10.5.8.

1) is an outstanding feature request; hopefully it wil be implemented. See #18897: Minim tremolo with beam styling

2) might be something wrong on your system, but did you try *double* clicking then using the arrow keys? That's how it normally works. The only thing greyed out in the right click menu should be the title of the menu itself, so you don't think you can click on it.
