How to increase the space between clefs on a grand staff
Hello! I am redoing a piece of church music that is very old and difficult to read. I am using the standard grand staff that came with the musescore program. When I inserted the text, I found that a couple of short words are completely covered by the connected stems of 8th notes. It seems to me that this issue will be solved if I can just figure out how to make the space between the treble and bass clefs a bit larger. Using a smaller font won't help. Any suggestions? I'm just getting started using the program, and I'm a complete novice with notation programs.
Many thanks,
Peggy

See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/layout-and-formatting#style-edit-gene…, esp. "Grand staff distance", but even more "Lyrics top margin". See also https://musescore.org/en/handbook/breaks-and-spacers
If you need it score-wide, the style setting is the way to go. If it's just a few places here and there that you need more space, choose the spacer.
