Increasing the vertical distance between Tab and traditional score
Hi folks,
I'm working on some classical guitar music where I have both tab and traditional music notation. It usually isn't a big issue and I just shorten the stems if it gets too messy looking, but in this case as the piece is in drop D a lot of the time voice 2 (the bass) ends up spilling into the tab and obscuring it.
Is there a way to make the distance between the normal music and the tab (vertical axis) further apart so it is easier to read? I'm a little OCD about my scores looking nice, and of course, they have to be easily readable.
Cheers,
K

Alternatively, and because you made a confusion in Style/General.
In this case of two staves for one instrument (Standard and TAB), you have to increase the "Grand staff distance" value" (ie in this score 9sp or more, as you prefer), and not the Staff distance - as you have done -, Staff distance is intended for two differents instruments and more.
Last advice, about the voices:
melodic line in Voice 1, agree of course. But for the bass line, use Voice 4, and Voice 2 for the inner voice/chords accompaniment.
Otherwise, you are obliged to flip the stems of Voice 3 (when using Voice 2 for bass line).
It's a waste of time. And the musical sense will be better concerning the voices arrangement.

Or in Staff properties of the TAB staff, use "Extra distance above staff". e.g. if you also have a piano and don't want to change its grand staff distance. (Attention: untested)
