Which Operating System, which MuseScore version?
Sounds as you're using MS 2.0.3 for MAC (where I believe there was a bug). If so, use at least MS 2.0.3.1: http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/musescore/releases/MuseScore-2.0.3/. Better is to install MS 3.0.5 or 3.1beta: https://musescore.org/en/download
If you're reyally using 2.0.3, better update to 2.3.2, even if 2.0.3.1 would fix that issue.
But first get yout keyboard fixed, seems your capslock key is stuck
