Reading MuseScore3 in MuseScore2
I have read that it’s possible to convert a v3 file to v2 using MusicXML, but what if I don’t have v3? I converted a pdf to MuseScore using the online utility, but it gave me a v3 file. Can I convert this to v2, or can I directly convert a pdf to a v2 file?

You need MuseScore 3 to read and convert it

Many thanks! This is the mscz file I received as the conversion of my pdf which I would like to read into MuseScore 2 :-)

Thank you so much! Just what I wanted :-)
Note it is perfectly possible to install MuseScore 3 and have it on your system, alongside MuseScore 2. So unless your system is so old it literally can't run MuseScore 3, there really no reason not to install it.
