!st ending bracket

I can't figure out the 1st ending bracket/line. I want it over 3 measures of a first ending, but when I place it over the first measure of the first ending and then edit to cover the other two measures, after saving, the individual parts only show the first ending bracket over the first measure of the 3 measure ending. Ive tried everything I can think of???
