MuseScore sounds distorted or overdriven in macOS Big Sur 11.5 Beta2
I just updated to the latest Big Sur Beta and MuseScore 3.6.2 does not play nice with it when it comes to sound.
Not only do the sounds in MuseScore sound overdriven (kind of reminds me of some Don Ellis sound effects - maybe ). But it cause all my sounds to distort. It renders the music app unusable. But only when MuseScore is open.
I tried exporting a major scale to .mp3 and it exports just fine .
I reverted to factory settings via the menu.
I reverted to factory settings via the command line.
I removed MuseScore and re-installed. All to no avail.
I realize that using Beta system software is risky, but somehow before the next official release, our volunteers need to be aware and work with Apple on a fix.
I am unable to upload .mp3 files, but here is a link to them in my DropBox folder.

Thanks for your reference, Shoichi.
But, checking the volume levels was one of the first things I tried.
I AM getting closer to a solution, however.
I have two start up drives. The problem only occurs on one of them, so it cannot be an inherent conflict between MuseScore 3.6.2 and Mac OS 11.5 beta 2.
On the drive that is not working correctly, I ran disk utilities to verify everything. It is ok.
I have found that if I go to MuseScore preferences > I/O, on both start up disks, it is set to Port Audio and Core Audio and HDMI boxes are checked. On the one that is not working correctly if I click on Jack Audio Server, then Apply, then back to Port Audio and Apply again, The sound is correct until I quit and restart MuseScore.
I have zapped the RAM, but am currently on the "good" drive. My Mac mini wants to start up from the internal disk even if I have the external selected in the start-up disk preference pane.
So, anyway, I am getting closer to identifying the source of the problem.

IT'S WORKING!
Not sure which procedure fixed the problem. Probably not Zapping the PRAM, though. When I opened up MuseScore and tried a playback of a score I still got the weird noise effects.
I went back to MuseScore > Preferences > and mucked around some more. Doing, (I think) things I had already done and the playback was nice and clear again. I quit and restarted 5 times and it worked every time without doing anything else.
