Simply Save As in the dedicated folder that you can locate from Edit/Preferences/Folders.

domo arigato. I was inclined to think that was the answer. thanks for the reply.
Templates are just regular scores stored in your defined template folder, there's no additional magic to it.
Note that in MU4 the title (not the filename) will be shown as template name so better fill it, otherwise you might end up with a lot of "unknown title" templates.

Now I know why they don't show up in my template list. I am going to give them titles and try again!!! Who had this brilliant idea? Makes for an extra step if you want a template named string quartet (and its title is J Haydn op 20/2)
