Printing Problems
When I print a score, it is missing clefs, dots from dotted notes, note values before a tempo marking, and a few other things. It's quite annoying.
I have tried to print from both PDF and straight from MuseScore. What's going on, and how do we fix this?

Please also attache the score itself. Is it displayed correctly with a PDF-viewer (which one)? What OS you're using?

The first photo is of the printed score. The second photo is the screenshot from MuseScore.
Yes, it displays correctly in Adobe, PDF Expert, and Apple Preview.
I'm using Mac Big Sur.

So sounds to me probably more as a Mac issue, not as a MuseScore issue. I'm myself not familiar with MAC, maybe another one more here in this forum.
Maybe search also with an internet research for your problem like: https://piunikaweb.com/2020/11/24/macos-big-sur-update-broke-printing-f…?
I assume this is a LaserJet Pro? Somehow the Mac printer driver for that particular series seems to have issues with the Leland font. Is this using 3.6.2? We tried to make a change to the font to improve this, but if you're still seeing that in 3.6.2, I guess it didn't happen, or didn't work. Anyhow, you might try contacting Apple and/or HP, because that seems to be the only combination that has problems with this font, so it's something they should probably fix, even while we continue to investigate what we might be able to do to work around it.
Meanwhile, switching to any other font should fix this.

I'm using an HP LaserJet MFP.
That worked! Thank you! I'll just use another font. I prefer the Emmentaler font, anyway.

As far as I can tell that change just didn't happen yet. There was a change to the Leland font in 3.6.2, but none for that particular problem.

Thank you so much! This is exactly the same issue I was having and your explanation fixed it. Switching the font was quick and easy.
As of today I'm having the same issue using:
macOS 10.16, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.6.2.548020600, revision: 3224f34
And printing to an HP LaserJet MFP M281.
Love the Leland font, and will contact Apple and HP to hope they work on it too. Excited for the day we get the news that this issue is resolved.

The problem is the Leland font, and it as been fixed, but the fixed version hasn't been released yet.

That's brilliant to hear. I too was flummoxed by this problem and it hadn't occurred to me that the font could be the culprit. I'm running
"Musescore 3.6.2.548020600 Revision: OS: macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.6.2.548020600, revision: 3224f34 Mac OS" and what appeared to be a complex problem has such a simple solution: use another font. The fixed Leland hasn't reached me yet but I'm optimistic and find MuseScore to be brilliant.
I'm puzzled (again). Just yesterday I printed to an HP printer having found a font that I thought worked. Vital bits were missing (again). I then tested all available fonts in the standard musescore collection and they all failed in the same way. The enclosed pdf displays correctly but when printed the Bb chord symbol in bar 2 reads as B followed by a minute splodge. If I print direct from musescore the same thing happens. What can I do?

Prints fine here, also an HP printer, but printing from Windows 11

Thanks Jojo. I see how much work has already gone into resolving this odd issue. I work with a mac and will check out the airprint/airdrop business.
I am having this same problem with version 4.0.2 trying to print on a Canon printer. I'm using Leland and Edwin fonts. Do the fonts still have known printing issues?

Resourceful Musescore has provided a work-around which I've only just noticed! You can export your pages in graphic format ( I chose png) and then printing works correctly as you might expect.

Good to know, but not helpful when you have 50-90 pages. The "intermittent" part seems to be the worst element of it. It seems like there's no way of knowing when it's going to strike.

No known issues as far as I'm aware
Having this same problem using the MuseJazz Font. Looks like there are persistent issues with this over the last few years.
Mac
Epson
Musescore 4.1.1
Font: MuseJazz
I'm not going to take the time to scan and compare at the moment. It was sometimes half a word, sometimes a dot from a dotted note, a flag from an 1/8th note, a "m7" chord quality or a chord note name. It was glitchy, unereliable and unprofessional. The PDFs all appear fine on screen.
I posted this comment to another thread as well. I'm actively looking for a short term solution, while also questioning whether it makes this program entirely unreliable? (Which would be unfortunate, since I have many scores and charts built in it. )
Can anyone help?

I'm not aware of any reported issues issue with this specific font. The issue with Leland was fixed some time ago, so whatever you are experiencing is apparently new and unrelated. Best to start a new discussion and give more details on the problem so an investigation can begin.

Definitly not the same problem but a different and new one.
Report it on GitHub, along with a zipped score and the PDF
