TAB question: 2 notes on same string?
Hi, I was wondering if there is any way to display two fretted notes on the same string in a TAB. For example, imagine a lead guitar part where a second harmonized guitar appears for just a few bars. I'd like to add this guitar as a 2nd voice in the staff, but when both guitars play a note which is fretted on the same string, the (simple) TAB which is linked to the staff doesn't allow to display this. In some TAB books I have seen notations like "---8/12---", for example, indicating that the main lead guitar should play the 8th fret and the second guitar plays the major 3rd on the 12th fret of the same string.
Is this possible in MuseScore? Thanks a lot in advance!

You could fudge it by using staff text - highlight fret number, Ctrl+T, then type /12 and drag it into position. Resize in the Inspector. If your fret marks are on broken lines you'll need to create a white graphic (use the image capture* on the toolbar) to simulate the broken line - set the stacking order in the Inspector if necessary. Save the white graphic background as SVG so that it is scaleable. Of course play back won't recognise it.

Thanks a lot! Although I was hoping for an easier solution, this workaround sounds like it‘ll be OK for what I need.
You could add a text as above and then add a hidden stave for playback. Alternatively add a second stave and choose to hide it when empty.

Thanks for this idea! I haven’t had the time to try these suggestions, but I‘m sure this will solve my issue.
