Loop playback does not work correctly
When I try to play bars 13-16 on loop, Musescore plays bars 9-12 instead.
The obvious possible remedies (remove loop makers and redefining them, close & restart) do not work.
Update: there seems to be some offset: if I choose bars 21-24 for replay, MS plays bars 13-16.

You mean repeat bars, not loop markers, right?
Why have P1, P2, etc. been entered as a chord symbols?

I am talking about loop markers. P1 etc just indicate the parts - I have changed them to text now - but that does not change anything.

Confirmed. Strange...
That P1 etc. being chord symbols is unrelated, but just wrong

As I wrote originally, I have marked measures 13-16 for loop replay.
P1 etc: has been corrected to text.
BTW Thanks for answering so quickly. ;-)

? I thought 21-24, with 13-16 being played then?

That was the "fix" I found. But of course you don't want an offset in the measure count,
BTW When I play normally, all repeats are handled correctly.

Ah: play bars 13-16 on loop, Musescore plays bars 9-12 instead
Both confirmed
Might be https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/16069
But more likely it is https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/12972
So set tempo to 120 ;-)

I set the tempo to 120 (at the top of the score), but no change, bug is still there.

Hmm, here too, not sure what I saw earlier
I have duplicated this looping issue. The problem occurs when there is a repeat barline prior to the beginning of the loop. 1st/2nd endings do not affect the issue.
In my instance, when a repeat barline is present, the playback of the loop consistently starts at 19 measures prior to the actual start of the loop setting, regardless where i locate the loop (after the repeat). When I remove the repeat barline, the loop plays correctly.

For me, this only happens when there is a repeat prior to the beginning of the loop and "play repeats" is checked in the playback settings drop down (the gear icon in the toolbar). It works correctly if I uncheck that.

This workaround worked for me. Thank you for sharing.

This worked perfectly. Thanks.
The bug definitely has to do with repeats.
I have discovered this same bug. That is loop playback after some repeated measures do not loop in the correct location. Is there a fix yet?
Thanks
Loop playback does not work at all since I installed Musescore 4. I select the desired part of the music, and the arrows appear at the start and the end, but when I hit Play, the selection only plays once, without repeating. It used to work fine in Musescore 3, but there must be a glitch in the new version.
When selecting the first bar and applying Looping, an error appears in the sound. A type of delay at the start of the measure.
I have this problem too. To uncheck "Play Repeats" really work, but it strange. I need always turn off/on this function for current goals. Hope the developers will fix this problem.
This is happening for me in version 4.2.1. Unchecking 'play repeats' does seem to work for me.
Hi, I also got mad at this bug !
The best hack I found is to check/uncheck the 'Play Repeats' option in the 'Playback Settings' (drop down gear icon in the toolbar).
If you just want to listen to the loop of your selection, uncheck 'Play Repeats'.
But if you want to play the part as it is supposed to be read (for example, if you want to export it as an audio file), check 'Play Repeats'.
Hope it makes sense and helps...

Funny thing is that the first set of repeats works fine in my rudimentary piece but on the next page is a second set of repeats that are ignored during playback no matter what I do. I started using MuseScore as an arranging tool so this would be useful if I could get it working. The version is 4.3.2.
Anyone else see this?

Ok, my bad. When I was troubleshooting a volta issue I must have set the last bar to Play Count = 1. Now it repeats correctly.

has the loop marker issue been resolved? It's still not playing in between the loop markers when the are repeat signs present before the desired loop section.

Thanks. I just unchecked "play repeats" and it works.
