Apply "Merge Matching Rests" to all parts
I really like the ability to merge rests when dealing with multiple voices in a part. Would it be possible to make this a Style setting so that you can apply it to all parts automatically?

Good point.
When applying rests in different (principally) choir parts on the same stave, I then need to align each set of voice rests over each other. This can be very time consuming on long pieces.

Hi, and in no way am I meaning to hijack not_dexters_lab's post and feature request, here is my example. If not_dexters_lab means something else I'll happy post mine as a separate new feature request :-)
I have knocked together a few notes and rests to show my meaning.

That is possible, by setting this staff by staff. Not really a lot of work, and you copuld even make it part of a template

Right-click into the staff, Staff/Instrument properties, tick the box "merge matching rests" (or some such)
It is a per staff-wide setting, the OP's request is to make that (also) a score-wide setting.
The Closed score SATB templates have set this by default
