Musescore 4 -- Adding composer name in header
One should be able to set composer name in header in the "Header & footer" section (Format > Style). As it is, the user must do that under Add > Text > composer, which seems unintuitive.

Add / Text / Composer adds the Composer/Arranger text field to the title frame, which is not a part of the header/footer. To add the composer name to the header or footer, add the value you want to appear to the File / Project Properties dialog and add exactly this text
$:composer:
(that is, dollar, colon, composer, colon) to the appropriate field in Format / Style / Header & Footer. I agree that it's counter-intuitive, but that's the way that it is.

Hutch, Kindly tell me what field in Project Properties I should put '$:composer'. Putting it in any of the editable fields, such as in the "Composer" window, does not display in the header when selecting Add > Text > Composer. I still have to add the composer name manually via Add Text. Perhaps I misunderstand.

These marcos are only for header/footer, not for any (title) frame
