Musescore with Kontakt player keeps on playing extra measures.
Hi all,
I just started working with this "Kontakt player" "thingy", pretty interesting to say the least. this is the free version. I hope there some people here that have some experience with this.
I can't seem to stop the Kontakt from playing past the final measure. I uploaded a video to you tube to show everyone the issue.
I simply followed a youtube video created by David McCoy, he went through a step-by-step instruction how to do it, if you are interested here is the link to that video.

Thank you

Probably the problem is caused by the arpeggiator, which should be reprogrammed to stop earlier, or by disabling it (but this can only be done with a DAW...) at the end of the score. However, i'm just guessing... there is not enough information.

Thank you for your response, I am in the same boat, I don't have enough information either, I just started dabbling with this Player and instrument libraries. I tried to export the file to MIDI from musescore but when i open the file in DAW (Cakewalk), the midi file created does not bring in the instruments assigned in musescore.

It will be necessary to have a little patience and follow some tutorials on youtube to increase your skills, familiarizing yourself with concepts such as automation, VSTi, etc. Importing a midi file into Cakewalk means that you have to manually reassign all tracks to instruments (kontakt and more); I don't think the soundfonts in musescore can be loaded into Cakewalk, in any case the operation does not happen automatically. However, if the problem is the arpeggiator setting, without user intervention it will not be automatically solved by Cakewalk...

I agree with you.
I think I took a bite bigger than I can chew. I tried to run this on cruise control and hoped I get a little beginner's luck.
I agree! I need take few steps back!
Thank you for your help.

Problem solved ! I put the question to David McCoy, the person in the video that started me on this venture. He suggested to put N.C. (No Chord) on the last measure, and it worked.

Well, you never stop learning... evidently inserting a chord symbol with this writing ("N.C.") works as a switch for the playback of the chords. Looking in the forum i realized now that others had talked about it. N.C. blocks kontakt and arpeggiators.

Well, actually any chord symbol MuseScore doesn't detect as such would do. "N.C." is all but one such thing, albeit conveniently so.

You are absolutely right; some witty person could also write 'Shut up!' with the same result... I take this opportunity to add that, at least for now, the tools to manage VSTi with Musescore are rather limited.

But not "F*** off", that'd play an F

eh eh eh... yet the solution was excellent... what a pity!
