Search forum posts?
Today (April 1, 2025) I tried to search the forum topics for help on a question I have about ornaments in MuseScore. As I recall, there used to be a separate help search field for the forum. Now I see only the option at the very top to search for sheet music. i tried using that search bar but was told that there is no sheet music found for my search (not surprising). I like to search existing topics before posting a question. How to do this now?

OK, but I cannot see it. See the screen shot below. As I recall, it was/is at the right side. I am using FireFox (most recent version) on Windows 11.
Update: I just tried FireFox on an iPad with iOS18. This displays is a magnifying glass icon to the right of the 'Activity' menu. This is not visible on Windows. So we are both right; it's in fact there but I do not see it. How to fix this??

Interesting, I see it right of "Activity", on Windows 11 and Edge
I've removed that annoying ad via uBlock Origin
I'm on Windows 10, Edge browser.
If I downsize the width of the window, those menu items: Download, Support, Contribute, Activity get rolled up into a menu icon, and 2 search boxes appear -- one is "Search for Sheet music" and the other is "Search for help":
Those 3 horizontal lines to the left of "Search for help" is a menu icon which accesses Download, Support, Contribute, etc.

"Those 3 horizontal lines" are what you're looking for. In my Firefox that row looks like this:
... with the magnifying glass at the right being the forum search.

This is weird. What you describe happens to me on FireFox if I make the browser window narrower. If I do anything else -- maximize, make the contents larger or smaller by using Ctrl plus mouse wheel, or make the window a bit wider -- then the 'Search for help' and the three bar menu disappear. There is plenty of room on my screen for the 'Search for help' to be displayed. So now I know how to access the search feature, which is good, but it would be better if the help search always appeared, as it used to do. Edge displays the same behavior as FireFox on my machine, except that the magnifying glass (= search for help} does appear to the right of 'Activity'.

Weird indeed! Can your browsers open pages in (something like) "mobile format" versus "desktop format". Similar to how browsers on your mobile device can? If so, perhaps you inadvertently set the MuseScore page to display in the "mobile format", so the page thinks that it's very narrow? (Perfect WAG!!! :-)

I looked through the FireFox settings but didn't see anything of this sort. (I know what you're talking about because when using my iPad I sometimes see "Request desktop site" as an option.) My laptop has a 15" (diagonal) screen, so there is lots of room.

Okay, even weirder!!!
Today, that search button has disappeared from my Firefox page. I noticed it when I first logged into the page about an hour ago.
Compare that to my screenshot from yesterday (timestamp Apr 2, 2025 - 07:04). Now, I cannot find the forum search page link AT ALL. I do not recall having made any changes to my Firefox settings. WTF?!?!?

English language equivalent:
"A problem shared is a problem halved"
The double joy thing is very old with Nordic and Shakespearean inks.

Naïve question but... how is the musescore search better than Google with the appropriate site: parameter?
In my experience the google results are way better aren't they?

I applaud your evil laughter beginning with "mua". Too many derivative postings get this wrong.
