Spam (about spam; this is not spam)
Is there really nothing that can be done about the spam junk? Here is a specific suggestion -- I have no idea how the forum is implemented, so I understand that even if logically simple it may not be possible.
Put all new accounts in a "New account" state, and only allow one (1) post until the account has been approved by an admin. This would not interfere with genuine new posters, but would cut the spam to a manageable level.
I also live in UTC+9, which may be a minority timezone, so would be very happy if I could be given minimal powers to delete/suspend spam posts. I do not think there is any ambiguity about what constitutes spam.

There are some such measures in place, explaining them in public though is counter productive 😁
You can mark posts as spam and you can mark users as spammers.

Well, whatever these secret measures are, they aren't working, are they? (And security through obscurity is the worst sort, as you might know.)
I don't know how to mark a post as "sample" (whatever that means), nor how to mark a user as a spammer, but there are currently three screens full of standard spam from two (I think) users. The problem is not an isolated spam message, it is the fact that a single user can sign up, them pour unlimited quantities of junk into the forum. The solution to this is to prevent new (unconfirmed, whatever) users from making more than one post. Once there has been a reply by any established user this could be enough to confirm the user as genuine.
Anyway, I really wonder. Musescore is supposed to be a community project. Why is every attempt to suggest ways of improving things, or to help make them better met with this obfuscatory denialism?

I currently only see one, the user apparently banned already.
Nobody is against anti spam measures, but giving details in public just gives spammers hints how to circumvent these.
"sample" of course was a typo, due to autocorrect on my mobile

I don't see anywhere to mark a single post as spam, only users.

It is behind the ...
But marking spammers is more effective anyway

Indeed, go to the spammer profile page and click on the three dotted icon > mark as spammer. Thanks for your help!

Hi Thomas, what do you think of the original proposal (do not allow more than one post for a new user until answered by at least once "not new" user)? Seems reasonable and could help you to keep the amount of spans at a manageable level?

Hi Thomas,
Small up: the original proposal (do not allow more than one post for a new user until answered by at least once "not new" user) seems reasonable and could help you to keep the amount of spans at a manageable level.

Just 1 is too few, we don't want new users to not be able to ask several questions (and do so in several articles).
With just 1 we'd encourage new user to ask multiple question in one article, and that is going to cause confusion

Except that usually legitimate questions receive an answer from Jojo-Schmitz (or Marc when you sleep) after some seconds, perhaps the new user wouldn't even notice this limit ;-)

Also notice that spam is gone at about the same speed

<< Also notice that spam is gone at about the same speed >>
That's not always true, currently the forum is one hour full of spams.
I continue to believe that the OP proposal makes sense.

All gone now. So that mechanism does work. It may need more people using it though, to have cover 7x24.

In the latest spam attack I found what I have been seeing. If you select the post before marking the user as a spammer and press the dots, you get the option of "Edit" or "Subscribe" no option to "Mark as Spam"

Exactly so. The spammers are also hijacking the contents of the "three dots" menu, so we can't mark the post as spam.

That means it has already been marked.

"That means it has already been marked."
Ah, I didn't understand that aspect. But if it has already been tagged as spam, why is it still appearing in the forum? Perhaps if the "Mark as spam" option were still available, this would allow multiple reports of the post being spam. And then a certain number of reports could automatically trigger removal of that post?

I believe it has to do with your computer using a cached page rather than a newly loaded one.
Once you load a new page the spam is gone.
