Which OS?
Maybe run MuseScore from command line if there's any output. Try out some command line options like "-s" or "-d": https://musescore.org/en/handbook/command-line-options

I'm don't using Windows. But I believe if you want to start MuseScore from command line inside Windows, you've to change to the directory/path before where the executable file is installed (use the command "cd" + the name of the folder/dircectory to switch to this folder) or try the MuseScore.exe command with the correct path specification before

Try https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings#instructions-…
If that doesn't work use the same method nut use the options kuwitt mentioned above.
If that still doesn't help as a last resort try mike320's suggestion

Sounds like your hard disk might be failing, leading to the file becoming corrupted. You can try reinstalling MuseScore, but you might also start thinking about replacing the drive.
There have been reports of people who have upgraded to version 1709 have had problems with MuseScore. If you upgraded to 1709 try reverting to the previous update.
