error can't read file
my score that im working on had grey file on it instead of the score in the start centre and it had the error of cant read file but i dont know what is wrong with it becuase i worked on it yesterday can anyone help itsa school asessment and i need it as quick as possible thanks

The file is ruined. You need to make sure you are looking for hidden files in the link I gave you. How you show hidden files is operating system unique and different in windows 8 than in windows 10 and so on.
One note, if you never saved it, you will only find one of the sc*.mscz files. If you saved it then reopened it at a later time there will also be a .Imagine.mscz, file somewhere on your computer. It will not have your edits from the last session, but all will not be lost.

Also, if you are using OneDrive or any similar cloud sync service, there is probably an older version you can recover using that.

i found the hidden file of it with the .imagine.mscz, and took off the dot and comma then used it but it did the same thing as before so can i use it or not

Can you explain what you mean by it did the same thing as before so can i use it or not
can i use any of these scores? If you mean it made a file that cannot be opened, please explain what you are doing that leads to the file not opening. Are you doing a save as? Do you have auto save turned on? Are you using some other save option? What Operating system are you on? What version of MuseScore are you using? Any information can help to track down this issue so it can be fixed for you and others who have run into this.

It sounds like these are recovered backup files and whatever the OP did caused them to save as all zeros - twice.
