[SOLVED] rests don't disappear after entering notes
Hello, I have a problem. Normally when you start a new score all measures have a full-measure rest, and then when you enter notes in the first measure that one disappears and so on.
However, I have a bit of a particular situation. I did my own soundfont of percussive instruments. As I was suggested here, I created many Flute parts, then I associated the right soundfont instrument to each part in the Mixer.
Next, in Staff Properties, I changed the name for each part, changed its lines from 5 to 1 or 2 (some instruments have a high and low note), checked "Use Drumset", and edited the drumset.
I can enter notes and play them back with no problem, however the original rests don't disappear, and they stay there under the notes... The blue arrows in this screenshot show these rests.
how can I solve this?
I'm on an up-to-date Archlinux system using musescore 1.1
thanks for any hints

Is it in a voice different from voice 1? The reste are blue, tah is the default color for voice 1, red is the default color for voice 4 I believe. Try exchanging voice 1 and 4, then you should be able to delete the rests

yes, thanks, changing the voices to 1 in the Drumset Editor (don't know why they were set to 4) solved this. many many thanks!
The reason different drums default to different voices is to allow you to notate independent rhythms - eg, bass drum and hi hat stems down, other drums stem up, etc.

ah yes, that makes sense. Don't need it in my case since it's actually two notes of the same monophonic instrument.
