SATB to SSA

Same piece, different subject.

I have a 4 part setting of a carol. I need to arrange it as 3 part treble. I'm assuming that it makes sense to copy much of the notes and lyrics, but I think I want some hints about the best way to proceed.

My instinct is to open the SATB in a tab in MuseScore, then open another tab for the SSA, cut and paste the basics (as carefully as possible) then go back and clean up weird overlaps. Octaves can be messed with - the six women are good versatile singers so moving the melody from voice to voice is not a problem.

So the notes are (more or less) under control - what I'm looking for is hints on using MuseScore efficiently. And effectively.

Any thoughts?
