Not jumping to 4th time bar
Last problem (I think).
The tune is repreating 3 times as needed but then stops and does not jump from bar 39 -41and the end
What do I need to do?

Brill thanks, that worked (made bar 41 back to 3 counts).
Do I need to understand why or do I just accept this fix as a querk?

Because you want that repeat to play 4 times, 3 times one Volta and one time the other.
The quirk is that you have to set this for the measure with the end repeat barline, not to the barline itself

I am still not doing something right.
It repeats the right amount of times but is not going to 4th time bar. See attached.

Sorry, missed that the first time: that 4. volta needs a repeatlist of 4, not 2
And the 1.2.3 volta a repeatlist of 1,2,3, not 1,2,3,4,0

I have looked carefully at the returned He came singing love which is working perfectly and tried to replicate it for the attached Before the throne of God above - what am I missing / not doing? It stops dead at the end of bar 25.
Both songs play 3 times and then jump to the 4th time bar to end.
He came singing love is but before the throne is not and I cannot see what is different between them.

There are two problems with this. First you have start repeats before both measures 5 & 6 but this doesn't cause the repeat count to stop too soon. The second problem is that you have the Play count set to 3 rather than 4 in measure 25. You want the section to play 4 times total, 3 for the first volta and once for the 2nd volta.

Look at the number of verses. They are different.
A song with 4 verses will usually display 1,2,3 at the first volta with 4 at the second volta.
A song with 3 verses will usually display 1,2 at the first volta with 3 at the second volta.
For correct playback, play count and repeat list will be (slightly) different for each song.

Plus the OP's first attachment contains only a single verse so it can be confusing to nail down exactly how many times total (counting the final volta) he wants the song played... or rather how many times the song should be played before the final volta.
