Make a MIDI file
Good morning.
I need to save a separate MIDI file. "Save as..." and using *.midi doesn't seem to work. What is the correct procedure for this?
Thank you,
Manuel

If you're looking to export from MuseScore to MIDI, use File>Export.
The dialog's upper menu is "Export To...".
Set it to MIDI.

Thank you, scorster.
When I export to MIDI and then klick on the .mid file, the .mscz just opens again. What I am missing?

Double-clicking a MIDI file may indeed open MuseScore (if your computer has that file-type association.) But it probably does not open any .mscz file. However, if it's a simple .mid file, it may appear that the ,mscz feel has reopened.
This raises the question, "What are you wanting to accomplish in exporting to .mid?" Do you want to open the MIDI file in another app?

I was. But I now opted for exporting to mp3, and it works fine, thanks again.

If you're after the sound, MP3 s the way to go anyway.
