Crashes (Windows 10)

• Apr 26, 2018 - 04:16

I've had Musescore crash at least 4 or 5 times this month, and I'm kind of getting tired of it. I've tried everything to get it to stop, and now it's given me an even bigger problem. It's corrupted a file that I've been working on for almost a year beyond repair. It even corrupted the backup. I've had corrupted files before, but not bad enough that it couldn't even load them.
Details:
Running Windows 10, Musescore version 2.1.0, using GeneralUser GS Musescore v1.442 Soundfont.
Program crashed after increasing the length of a crescendo by 2 beats, then clicking on a note. The program crashed almost immediately after I clicked on the note (It was placed a half step off, so I was going to fix it). Proceeded to open up Musescore again, and it said Load Error: Couldn't read file: blahblahblahfilestuffblahblah: I assume it was supposed to put the reason why after the file stuff, but it didn't. I looked for every backup and current version of the file I could find (edited Apr 25, 2018), none of them loaded. Is there anything I can do to recover this file? I lost a good week's worth of work, because all the other versions reverted to a version from about a week ago.

If you're on Windows 10, then OneDrive probably has a previous version of the file ready for you to recover.

Also, as mentioned above, feel free to attach some of the files that won't open here, there's always a chance someone can fix it.
